As part of a customer relationship management (CRM) course at Marquette University, I worked as part of a small student team on a 15-week, semester-long project based on a year’s worth of consumer purchase data for select SC Johnson product families and brands.
Through our data analysis, reporting and team presentations, we recommended how SCJ could best work with its retail partners to target current and new high-profit consumers. Our work ranged from developing customer journey maps, brand sentiment analysis and consumer retention strategies to identifying data-driven consumer segments based on marketing mix behavior and preferences, profitability and demographics.
As part of our project work, we were introduced to (and gained confidence in using) several analytical and CRM software platforms – sophisticated data analysis software, a social media analytics service (Mention) and Salesforce.
